Box of Chocolates

A box of chocolate was given to me
It has lots of varieties, delicious I see
With all its variousness my anxiousness awaits
Hoping to enjoy, after all they’re all chocolates

First thing I saw was the white chocolate
Out of curiousness it’s the first one I get
It’s white as a cloud and pure as a virgin
I find them really good as I chew it in

Then there are the dark chocolates quite bitter and strong
Kind of intimidating but I was so wrong
As it melts in my mouth I began to startle
It has overwhelming goodness which comes out subtle

Then my eyes lay on the chocolate with candy sprinkles
So festive and colorful I always get tickles
At first I love eating them it was so fun
But then I had too much I want to throw up I’m done

Next up are the chocolates that are sugar-coated
They’re so pretty and inviting my taste buds melt
But with its too much prettiness comes a danger
Too much with anything is bad for you I’m sure

The last ones are the chocolates with caramel in it
Looks so plain you’ll think it’s just chocolate
But as my tongue lays on the caramel I felt a tingle
It’s a golden treasure it made me giggle

This box of chocolate surely has lots of surprises
Some of them I like; some gave me distress
Still I am thankful for this gift’s a blessing I bet
As what Forest Gump says, “Life’s a box of chocolate, you’ll never know what you gonna get”
